All this excellent work has been done by the XDA Senior Recognized Developer topjohnwu who continues to make some major changes at regular intervals. However, since he has now joined Google’s Android Platform Security team, a few cuts and removal were along the way (and that is completely understandable). But even then, the developer has done a tremendous job with the latest Magisk build by making it fully compatible with the latest OS build and by adding the Zygisk feature to it....

Along the same lines, the latest additions to the Pixel lineup have carried forward the legacy of the OEM’s active participation in custom development. As a result of which, gaining administrative privileges is now a possibility. However, rooting both these devices, as of now, wouldn’t take the general approach of simply flashing the patched boot.img file. This time around, you will also have to disable the verity check otherwise, you will end up with the “failure to load/verify boot images” error....

Then the fact that they are having a reputable name in the custom development proves to be the icing on the cake. Once you have unlocked the device’s bootloader, then there are a plethora of tweaks and mods waiting to make a permanent abode on your device. These include the likes of flashing a custom/GSI ROM and gaining administrative privileges by rooting your device via Magisk. This in turn will allow you to flash Magisk Modules, Xposed Framework, and a plentitude of other tweaks....

This is similar to how your bank will block your credit/debit card if anyone enters the incorrect PIN three times. You could also apply a similar rule to the user account wherein the user would be given a specified number of chances to log in before blocking his or her account. The number of incorrect attempts [also known as Account Lockout Threshold] could only be set by the administrator and ranges from 1 to 999....

Being a Kickstarter project, much wasn’t anticipated from it, but it managed to surpass all expectations. One of the major reasons for the same is its compact design- the screen size is just 3 inches long. Apart from that, the device has been titled as the world’s smallest Android 10 4G smartphone. The OEM has this habit of restricting most of its budget devices to just a single year of Android upgrades. As a result, the Realme 1 device owners missed out on Realme UI. Anyways, moving on, under the hood you get an octa-core Mediatek MT6771 Helio P60 chipset and Mali-G72 MP3 GPU....

As of now, its only saving grace is the fact that it still continues to be quite an active player in custom development. From flashing custom ROMs and recoveries to rooting your device via Magisk, the possibilities stand endless. You could also flash tons of custom mods and binaries onto your device. However, each of these tweaks could prove to be risky as well. While softbrick and bootloop are usually on the cards, but in some instances, your device could even end up in a hard-bricked state....

This same tradition has been carried on in custom development as well, bringing up smiles to the faces of tech enthusiasts. Once you have unlocked the device’s bootloader via In-Depth Test APK, there’s a truckload of tweaks to try out. From flashing custom ROMs to installing custom recoveries like TWRP or OrangeFox, the possibilities stand endless. Along the same lines, you could even root your device via Magisk, with or without using TWRP Recovery....

However, there’s just one major issue- it comes pre-installed on many Android devices. And the worst part? It is treated as a system app and hence you wouldn’t be able to uninstall it (at least not the normal way). If you head over to Chrome’s App info page on your device, then the Disable App is the closest you could get. While doing so would disable the background functionality of Chrome, but the app will still be having a permanent abode on your device....
